The V-LD3-EVAL provides immediate access to the full capabilities of RFbeam’s V-LD3 60GHz radar object tracking sensor and is designed to simplify the transition from evaluation to OEM integration.
Equipped with a pre-mounted and factory-calibrated V-LD3 sensor, the evaluation kit enables rapid evaluation of object tracking, people sensing, motion detection and presence detection applications. Powered by Texas Instruments’ low-power IWRL6432 radar chipset, the V-LD3-EVAL generates detailed 3D point cloud data and supports multi-object tracking at distances of up to 20 meters.
The evaluation kit comes preprogrammed with RFbeam’s enhanced version of Texas Instruments’ Motion and Presence Detection Demo, featuring automatic loading of factory calibration data and optimized radar configurations for the V-LD3 platform. Developers can immediately start evaluating radar functionality using TI’s Industrial Visualizer or leverage TI’s MMWAVE-L-SDK and Radar Toolbox ecosystem for custom developments.
A single USB-C connection provides power and access to UART, SPI, JTAG and CAN-FD interfaces through the integrated FTDI bridge. The platform also supports firmware updates and custom firmware development, making it an ideal tool for evaluation, prototyping and application-specific radar development.
