The V-MD3 is a high-end 61 GHz 3D FMCW radar transceiver that sets a new standard for object detection and tracking. This module features integrated signal processing and tracking algorithms, eliminating the complexity of managing small, noisy signals and the need for writing custom processing code. It can accurately measure the speed, direction, distance, and angle (in both azimuth and elevation) of multiple static or moving objects.

The sensor’s hardware includes 3 TX and 4 RX patch antennas with a 60°/36° beam aperture, paired with a powerful FPGA for integrated range-Doppler processing with tracking. Its digital structure and wide power supply range (8 to 32V) make it exceptionally easy to use in any standalone or MCU-based application. The V-MD3 offers a target list output over 100BASE-T Ethernet and includes 2 configurable digital outputs with overcurrent protection for simple collision avoidance. With a typical detection distance of 30 m for persons / 80 m for cars, this module provides superior performance. Furthermore, its rugged, water-proof IP-65 housing with M12 connectors ensures durability and simple integration even in harsh environments.
